EU StandardNew EU Burglar Alarm Standard
What of this new European Standard for burglar alarms (EN50131)? What does it mean to our customers? The new European Norm, to give it its proper name, introduces the concept of "graded" systems and also obliges installers to carry out a formal "risk assessment" of customers premises and contents to ensure that the protection fits the risk. Grade 3 systems (most commercial risks) are more complex than before, while Grade 2 systems (most residential) are not much changed from the old BS.4737.
